Legislation introduced in April 2016 meant that umbrella companies were no longer able to allow contractors to claim travel and subsistence.
That significantly reduced the number of Umbrella employees able to claim tax relief on travel and subsistence expenses. In fact, Umbrella employees are not considered for expense claims, unless SDC does not apply.
